The main element of the digital tachograph system, the “Skaitis” information system, prepares tachograph cards for use, changes their statuses, and manages status changes from card issuance until the end of use. It also exchanges information on card statuses with the relevant institutions of other EU countries. The system’s information structure comprises documents and data submitted by natural and legal persons; databases and data stored in IS “Skaitis” components; data created by IS “Skaitis” components; data stored in a cryptographic device; data written to and printed on personalized tachograph card chips; and data received from state registers, card-issuing centres of other EU countries (CIA), inspection authorities (CB), the European Root Certification Authority (ERCA), manufacturers of non-personalized tachograph cards, and tachograph manufacturers registered in the Republic of Lithuania, where applicable.
