    dct:description "The collection contains data of the State Forest Service (VMT) on the network of barrels in Lithuania from 1998 to the present day. A barrel is a forest accounting unit covering an area of approximately 16 km2 or 400 ha. When carrying out forest inventory, the barrel shall establish the most important performance indicators of the stands. These data allow to assess the state of Lithuanian forests and their change indicators at the level of the country, administrative units or their compounds (counties, districts). 16 349 permanent observation barrels are singled out in the territory of the Republic of Lithuania, which are updated every five years. The SRS performs observations in a fifth of barrels each year. The data of the set shall cover all forest land of Lithuania regardless of the form of ownership. The object of the kit is one barrel. The table shows the date of measurement, the five-year cycle, the status and the coordinates of the “noisy” barrel centres for confidentiality purposes."@en,
        "Rinkinyje pateikiami Valstybinės miškų tarnybos vykdomos Lietuvos nacionalinės miškų inventorizacijos (NMI) duomenys nuo 1998 m. iki dabar. Nacionalinė miškų inventorizacija Miškų įstatyme apibrėžiama kaip valstybinė miškų inventorizacija atrankos metodu ( https://e-seimas.lrs.lt/portal/legalAct/lt/TAD/TAIS.417889?jfwid=zzkff5ewj ). Inventorizacija suteikia galimybę stebėti miškų būklę ir jų kaitos rodiklius šalies ir administracinių vienetų ar jų junginių (apskričių, rajonų grupių) lygmeniu. Ši visų Lietuvos miškų inventorizacija vykdoma pagal statistiniais metodais pagrįstą atrankos schemą, naudojant apskaitos barelių tinklą. Ši inventorizacija leidžia sekti miškų būklę ir jų kaitos rodiklius šalies ir administracinių vienetų ar jų junginių (apskričių, rajonų grupių) lygmenyje. Lietuvos Respublikos teritorijoje yra išskirti 16 349 nuolatiniai apskaitos bareliai, kurie kas penkerius metus permatuojami. Barelis – miško apskaitos vienetas, apimantis 500 m², arba 400 ha miško plotą.
